The RC Laser is the only model sailing boat in the world that is supported by a full time commercial staff. That means that each owner has a real person to talk to that provides knowledgeable advice, a full stock of parts, and prompt warranty service.
The Association, on the other hand, is a volunteer run organization that provides member services such as Regattas, Sail Ins, published information, and club support. The goal is to provide all RC Laser owners with combined services that elevate the enjoyment of owning and sailing an RC Laser. Member Benefits
Quarterly newsletter - "Drum Roll" is published quarterly and distributed by email or by mail and is filled with information of value to all RC Laser owners. Regattas/Sail Ins - Racing is a big part of the culture of sailing. Every time two boats appear together, a race is on. Our association provides the structure for everyone to learn and participate in racing from the local club level to the North American Championships. Sail-Ins are organized for family fun and are designed to gather owner families to enjoy model sailing events outside the racing environment. Fleets - Our association assists local fleet development and growth. A wealth of experience is passed along to local fleets to help them avoid reinventing the wheel. Entry Qualification - Regional and North American championships are for members of the Association. Discounts/Priorities - Through a relationship with the RC Laser North American distributor, Association members enjoy discounts on RC Laser products and priorities on certain offers. Association Responsibilities
The Association is responsible to provide the leadership and structure to the functions of the Association. Some of those specific responsibilites are noted below. Website - Fund and maintain the website for information important to member benefits. Newsletter - Produce and distribute the quarterly newsletter to all members. RC Laser Fleets - Establish and maintain a listing of all contact information for fleets within the Association area. Fleet program - Provide the basic information on management for local fleets to include funding, freqencies, scoring, volunteers, race courses, social activities, and promotion. Promotion - Participate in events that promote model sailing and specifically sailing RC Lasers. Join Now!
